This beautiful spring weather has been holding us captive at home. Needless to say we are going a bit stir crazy. So last Sunday we decided to take in Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin. We had no idea what to expect, nevertheless we were pleasantly surprised with the mix of statues, jewelry, vases and interactive features. The WAG seemed to be a popular choice for patrons on this cold Sunday and it was truly inspiring to see people of all ages come together to take in art work that spans over 10 centuries. With over 160 ancient treasures available for your viewing, and the option of an audio tour, you can peruse the gallery for as long as you want. We opted for the audio tour and spent about 2 hours in the exhibit.
I highly commend the WAG for not forgetting the kiddies, there were children’s height peep holes scattered through out the exhibit to keep them occupied. My favorite part of the exhibit was figuring out which God I would mostly likely be: Dionysos, son of Zeus, and God of Wine and theater. Yep! That sounds about right.
The exhibit has been extended until April 17, get down to the WAG before its gone.
If you head down to the gallery this week, let me know how it goes in the comments below.
